How could a star announce the coming of the Jewish Messiah? Who were the men who made the discovery? What keys helped them to understand the message of the star?

"MUL.BABBAR: The White Star Over Bethlehem" is a historical novel about the wise men who visited the Messiah in Bethlehem. In the last years of the first century BC, this special group of astronomers turned from worshiping their ancestral gods to believing in the Jewish messianic king, the Righteous One.

The star was a herald of the Messiah. The heavens delivered a completely unexpected message concerning the King of kings. The novel's insights from Babylonian astronomy and Messianic Judaism bring the experience of the Magi into focus and highlight the unique nature of the star. The name MUL.BABBAR, meaning the "White Star," was used by Babylonian astronomers for the star which signaled the Messiah's coming.

The novel is based on Dwight Hutchison's research about the Star of Bethlehem. A simple explanation of Mr. Hutchison's ideas about the Star of Bethlehem can be found in the book: The Star of Bethlehem, Signs in the East and a Surprise in the West, which is also available on Amazon.

An early version of Mr. Hutchison's theory of the star was described by a professional astronomer in this way: "Mr. Hutchison has made a serious study. Using computer technology and Babylonian astronomical concepts as well as Jewish names and dates, Hutchison has come to believe that the star was involved in a series of royal messianic celestial signs. These largely discreet events, seen by the magi while they were in the East, indicated the Messiah's coming. Later, the star unexpectedly became a sign over Bethlehem as well." (The Star of Bethlehem and the Magi, Brill, 2015, p. 4.)

Comments from one reader: It really is a remarkable work. I can't imagine how much time it took to do the meticulous research ... It flows well. I got so nervous at the end when the Magi were fleeing from Herod. Yikes.
